If you are planning to work in the service industry in NSW in an establishment that serves alcohol, you must obtain an RSA Certificate first. This certification is only available through an approved training program and must be completed in a classroom setting. There are no approved online RSE trainings. Edway Training Pty. Why Training is Necessary

The NSW State law decrees that only people who are trained to know and understand the consequences of drinking alcohol on individuals and the community, can safely serve alcohol and do so in a responsible manner. For this reason, all students must attend a certified, six hour approved course, in person, to receive the certificate that will allow them to work in the service industry in any enterprise that serves alcohol.

The RSA Course

You must attend the course and pass a written assessment at the end of the class to obtain your RSA.

This six hour approved course will cover:

• Serving Alcohol responsibly in NSW

• Legislative requirements for obtaining the RSA Certificate

• Guidelines for understanding low-risk drinking

• How to prevent intoxication of patrons

• Preventing under-age drinking

• Risk management and preventing dangerous or violent situations

At the end of successfully completing the course, each participant will receive an OLGR NSW certificate which will allow you to immediate work in a business that serves alcohol and a statement of completion that is nationally recognized. Within a week to ten days, a wallet-sized card will be mailed to you.
